The doll is designed by indigenous artist Sherren Gross and with her approval made by artisans working for fair trade Artisans Effort, Kolkata. Royalties are paid to the indigenous artist. The outfit on mother and child indicates possum skin. The emblem on the mothers outfit depicts a pearl shell with dolphin and snake in it. Traditional emblems of the Nunukul,Nughie and Gorenpul people from Mijerribah ( North Stradbroke Island) in Quandamooka( Moreton Bay)
The doll has a height of 20cms when sitting. Total length is approx. 31cms.

Artisans Effort is a producer based Organization all the Artisans needs and difficulties are closed understood . Not only does this purchase help to enrich the lives of many producers but it also helps to fund a school established in January 2014 by the founders of Artisans Effort, Ejaz and Shaista. The school is based in Asanol (West Bengal). As well as admitting paying students, Artisans Effort also covers the cost for some needy students.
